Detergent theft suspect being held in Orange County Jail

Ronald Ledesma, 54, was booked at Men’s Central Jail in Santa Ana and is being held on One Million dollar bail.  He is accused of 10 counts of related commercial burglary.  Ledesma walked into a Vons Supermarket on February 7th, he walked straight to the detergent aisle and loaded up his cart with 9 bottles of liquid Tide detergent.  He then allegedly left the store without paying for the items.  According to Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino, Ledesma fled the parking lot in a Ford Explorer after he was confronted by a store manager. In his attempt to flee the scene Ledesma crashed into an off duty Orange County Fire Authority ambulance and injured a paramedic.  Ledesma kept driving but was followed by a witness who called the police and informed them of his location.  Ledesma was arrested on Cherry Avenue in Lake Forest.  Amormino confirmed that Ledesma was high on methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.  For FREE Bail Bond information call Penny Bail Bonds ANYTIME at 1-866-736-6977
